Even though it wasn’t cold enough for us to get some fresh snow in Vegas (or thereabouts) on Christmas day, the snow report of two feet plus powder was enough to convince Todd to make the drive up to Mt. Charleston. Well, at least we had some fun sinking our shoes into some deceptively shallow-looking [...]

Off to Vegas
December 23rd, 2009 · 1 Comment
We’ll be in Vegas for a few days, starting Wednesday – which is, I guess, today.
Shocker: I’m not taking the MacBook Pro.
Disclaimer: Todd is taking his brand spankin’ new netbook . . . so I may be blogging and posting photos. But I will also be trying to catch up on my reading. Such internal [...]

Honolulu City Lights 2009
December 22nd, 2009 · No Comments
Every year, Todd and I check out the Honolulu City Lights display at and around the grounds of Honolulu Hale. (Hale, pronounced HAH-leh, is Hawaiian for “house”; Honolulu Hale is our city hall.) The main attraction is pretty much always the tree, even though you can barely make the arbor out under all the lights and [...]

Rock It
December 20th, 2009 · No Comments
I would like to own The Beatles: Rock Band, but (a) we have no space for a Rock Band setup, and (b) I could barely figure out how to play it, thereby causing Todd to take over for me today at Best Buy:
Plus, why should I get a game in which my husband could totally [...]

“STOMP” at Kahala Mall
December 20th, 2009 · 2 Comments
We just got our tickets in the mail for “STOMP” at the Hawai‘i Theatre (we’re going on January 1st) and were thrilled for the opportunity to experience a free preview in VIP seats yesterday at Kahala Mall! Because we RSVPed to the event via Twitvite, Todd and I were able to sit with our friends [...]

Hot Stove: Bradley’s Out!
December 18th, 2009 · No Comments
The Cubs have finally made an offseason move I actually care about: According to WGN Radio’s David Kaplan*, they got rid of outfielder Milton Bradley today!
Bradley was hugely toxic to the team this past season, blaming his poor performance on everything from his social isolation in the clubhouse to the racism of the fans (who, [...]

It’s not just me: This is totally weird, right?! Danielle and I got a kick out of it yesterday at the new Lanikai Juice diagonal from Kahala Mall. I guess it’s some sort of costume (there are arm holes on the side) . . . but it looks like it came out of a Lady [...]

Mostly There . . .
December 12th, 2009 · No Comments
I’m almost done customizing this new WordPress theme. It took forever for me to find one I liked, and I really ended up choosing this one because I loved how it worked for Rachelle B., especially dimension-wise. Huge props to Rachelle for being such a big help . . . without even knowing she was [...]

See You, Chris
December 9th, 2009 · No Comments
I just saw in the Honolulu Advertiser online that my friend Chris Pablo died today. While Chris eventually succumbed to cancer (two diagnoses in 18 months), one wouldn’t dare call him a “victim.”
About 14 years ago, Chris was diagnosed with CML: chronic myelogenous leukemia. He needed – and, fortunately, received – a bone marrow transplant. [...]
