The Fray

Buckle your seat belts: Crissy actually went to a concert that didn’t involve (a) Broadway performers or (b) Billy Joel.

Have you picked your jaw up off the floor yet? Good. We can move on.

The Fray was AWESOME. In case you’re thinking to yourself, “I’ve never heard of The Fray,” well, sure you have. Everyone’s heard “How to Save a Life,” whether they’ve wanted to or not. It’s kind of like “Poker Face” that way. Also, if you’re a fan of the TV series “LOST,” you’ll recognize “You Found Me,” which played in numerous promos for the show. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the concert and was able to snap a few pretty decent pics before my camera went bonkers:

The Fray,

The Fray performing “How to Save a Life” for the first time in Hawai‘i.

Isaac Slade, The Fray

Lead singer Isaac Slade playing the piano. Admittedly, cuter in the group’s videos. Just kidding.

Isaac Slade’s silhouette on the ceiling of the Waikiki Shell. Reminds me of “One Song Glory” in “RENT.”

Isaac Slade, The Fray

Isaac Slade again. I just thought the colors in this one made it look cool.

I’m not much of a concert reviewer (unless the concert totally sucks, because we all know I am fully capable of complaining), and I never do set lists because while I may take notes while I’m having dinner, I can’t do it during a concert. So the photos are basically what you’ve got, ’cause they’re all I’ve got.

Thinking about going to the Elton John concert in January. We just saw him with Billy Joel at Wrigley Field this past summer, and Sir Elton wasn’t all that great of a showman at the time, but perhaps he’ll have rejuvenated himself by then.

    These are great shots, Crissy.

I must be seriously out of touch as I have never heard The Fray’s “How To Save A Life” or Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”. :-/

I saw Billy Joel and Elton John several years ago in San Jose, California. Billy Joel’s performance was far more animated than that of Sir Elton back at that time.

    Good to see you blogging!
